Worst customer service I ever had in my life . I opened an e-cd and finally got it through on the date the cd rate of 3.15 APY expired )8-10-2018. I put in a few days before that date but they showed it went through on 0810-18 . I managed to see my cd on line through their site but I never could make a copy of the cd it self ... Under documents it says must have adobe reader which I installed and it keeps saying there are no statements ... No matter how many times I call they fail to answer me back and last time I waited 5 days ... When I explained I wanted a copy of the e-papers I signed with my account number , the amount of c-d , and all other paper work like I get in any other cd I've ever filled out ... The woman put me on hold as I waited patiently when she said she will find out and put me on hold . I waited 15+ minuets and then I was hung up on and tried to call back for days with no return call ... I also put my request in writing for someone to call me back with my Ph. # and account # . I've had bad customer service before but this bank is absolutely the worst I've ever experienced in my 57+ years of life ... Please let me know what you think of their service as if I do not hear from them I will go to the FED's and report them . All I want is a copy of my C.D. I will print it .. I just asking how I go about getting it...
The team is very professional and responsive. A great local bank to work with!
Chris Tibbets and his team at Home Loan Investment Bank are second to none in offering solar loans on home improvement loans. They are very reliable and fantastic with our customers. We can't recommend them highly enough.
It was very easy to apply online for their 18 months CD account with 3.15% APY! In a matter of minutes (in the end of the process) they had already approved and gave me my account number. I was very impressed because it takes other financial institutions days (and even weeks Andrews FCU).
I went to a local branch in person on 1/4/20. I understood that in order to get that rate I had to go in person and not open online. I received immediate service at the Warwick, RI branch to open 2 accounts. The CD rate at that time was 3.00% and I opened without any problems. Then I needed an account to have the monthly interest payment transferred to. They recommended the checking account at 1.75% with maintaining a minimum balance of $2,500. I did not have the $2500 on me and they said they would wait to fund the account without any penalty fees as I would return with the deposit within 24 hours. Works for me and they even gave me a sheet of printed starter checks for free. I gave them $100 to get started and then came back with the $2,500 within a few minutes. This branch was extremely accommodating and I felt very good about my choice. Like clockwork on the 30th day of January, 2020 the interest was placed into my checking account without one bit of trouble. And I can view all of the transactions online as well as making any online transactions myself. I will be banking at Home Loan for many years to come, especially if the customer service continues the same way!
Im finding all older reviews on this current rate leader. ALL 3 month CDs should be at least 5.5% since a lot of HYSAs are paying that much likely to go higher 4th quarter 2023. General consensus is a rates plateau then anticipating a pivot sometime in 2024.
Had to email them to get a reply; no real phone customer service. But they only let you open an account if you go into the branch in person for a savings account. For an eCD, can be done online, but rates very low so probably not too many customers. This is why they have no support staff.
Shortly after 9 a.m. this morning, I began the process of opening a new CD with this bank on line based on their advertised rate of 2.50%. All was well until I got to the Truth in Savings disclosure, which showed an APY of 2.00%. I spoke to customer service, who told me that the 2.50% rate was no longer good because they were changing the rates today. When I suggested the bank might be guilty of false advertising she contacted her supervisor. I was then advised that they would honor the higher rate if my application was completed before 9:30 a.m. I scrambled to complete the process (which of course took much longer than it should have) and got an email at precisely 9:30 a.m. telling me the application was complete. At this point the T-I-S statement still shows a 2.00% rate. I believe they will honor their commitment to give me the higher rate, but I haven't seen it in writing yet. I'll update this review once that happens. UPDATE: I was able to log in to the new account, and the rate shown is the higher rate as promised. So, kudos to the bank for honoring its word, but thumbs down for continuing to show the outdated rate on their website.
I needed to finance home improvements to my recently purchased two flat in Chicago. Being young and tapped out , with no cash on hand I was severely limited in my options. After doing some digging calling around, Home Loan & Investment Bank was the most responsive and most willing to work with my unique situation. The loan officer I worked with, Rodney G, was super helpful and made the entire process a breeze. They offer pretty standard financial products, competitive rates and at least one not so common product - the Title 1 Loan, which I sought. As someone who works in the financial services industry, I really appreciate a good experience when seeking financial products for myself. The staff are extremely pleasant and immediately respond to emails/ calls MY ONLY QUALM - Does not change the 5 Star review. However: I would like to be able to link my HL&IB account with various budget and credit tracking services like MINT.COM and CREDITKARMA.COM
