Fifth-Third Bank is a great bank. I have a checking and savings account with them. I have never had any issues with them. Deposits go through in a regular amount of time. I like the different options for my checking account. The people are nice and answer questions thoroughly and efficiently. I wish they had slightly better rates but they are competitive so I don't see any need to move.
Opened a promotional CD last year with a very competitve rate (2.5% - 9 months). It is now coming due. I am not renewing and have to go into a branch to transfer the proceeds to my checking account. Chances are I will be closing that as well. Definitely not making my life a 5/3 better.
I used to bank with Fifth Third Bank. They were okay to bank with in the 90's and early 2000's until online baking came around in my opinion. Banks like Fifth Third charge money just to have a bank account with them. Now, there are way better options like Capital One 360 were there are no fees for anything. I didn't see the point of staying with the old style banks anymore.
Today 2/22/24 I went into 5/3 Branch on North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek Ohio. I went in to make a large deposit and cash a small check of mine. Deposit was OK, but my Military ID was refused as it is not on there list which she would not show me. She only can accept Drivers License which Clark Howard says we should not use because of encoded information on it. But they have always accepted it prior. It has my picture on it and issued by State of Ohio. I protested and told her I would close out my accounts. She said fine, go ahead and close them. I finally gave her my DL, and she cashed $50 personal check. I told her I was going to call in a complaint on her. She said go ahead. I called in complaint to Arerial, and complaint process was started. This is not first time I called in a complaint on Sandra or Kaylee. MY ADVICE IS TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIFTH THIRD BRANCH AND STAY AWAY FROM KAYLEE / SANDRA DAVIS. There are better branches to go to, like Xenia Branch, where Dennis Lange trains his employees way better.
Brought my account back to positive and the bank said it doesn't matter if you were positive at the end of the day you made another transaction that put u back in the negative so you have to pay a overdraft fee plus a daily overdraft fee plus a extended overdraft fee they take your money and say fuck u we are not taking the extra fees off go fuck yourself ! This bank is trash! I guess this guy doesn't understand the people get fucked up about money even die dangerous game yall are playing! This bank is a joke
What they are doing to senior citizens in the state of Ohio is predatory. They have 2 more days and then the story will be dropping here. Stay tuned.
The bank made an error in my account of $33,000 and refused to correct it. The transaction was made by 53 on behalf of a commercial customer we unfortunately had in common. The bank was happy to debit my account and credit the commercial account, but would not reverse their entry even though it was in error. Instead I had to wait for the commercial account holder to send me a refund, and my account stayed overdrawn until that was done. Now I am trying to get fees reversed and other access issues resolved and am passed from one group to another and no one will help. This has been going on for over a month. I am currently trying to contact the branch manager but no one answers the phone.
This is the worst bank to deal with, their employees provide you with false information on their days/hours open, what you can accomplish during the phone call, what you are able to do, etc. The online website is a complete and total joke - they make it impossible to sign up, waste hours of your time, charge fees, and are unwilling to help. They are illiterate, unhelpful, and rude.
In all of my entire existence on this planet I have had many experiences with customer service for a variety of organizations and institutions. Most have been positive. Yes, I had some trouble with AT&T insulting my aging parents ability to manage a cell phone, but I dumped them within minutes and never looked back. Of course Comcast comes to mind with their terrible reputation and I would even give them a C- minus after dumping them and never looking back. By far, and I do mean by far the worst, absolute worst, like absolute zero worst experience I have ever had with customer service over the course of the last two months has been with Fifth Third Bank. Their policies and conduct and personnel all need a major overhaul. Will they do it? Of course not. They have to many "assets" to ever think something is wrong. So maybe I can't just dump them and never look back but as an avocation, I can tell the truth about this dismal failure of Bank as far as my voice can carry until the last day that I ever have to interact with them. That I can do and that I will do. #customerservice #bank #fifththirdbank
I have a 100% history of payment in 18 credit cards. Only one credit card I have issues with, 53 bank. After I had the second issue with them (due to the long process compare to other banks to link an external account so no automatic payments possible) I went to a branch, paid all the balance, but surprise it seems like the person at the bank made a mistake and for just 1 dollar I have 6 MONTH LATE PAYMENTS. A credit of way more than 700 is now at 589. THANKS 53 BANK!!!! If there were a ZERO in the rate that is what I would have rated you with. I will take my business other place.
When I was visiting a relative in Tennessee, I walked into a branch to break a $50 bill. The teller told me they cannot make change for me because I was not a customer. Um, what?? It is a $50 bill, cash, to be broken into 2 $20's and a $10 or 5 $10's - cash for cash. Nope. I have never seen such poor service and a petty refusal of a reasonable request. I vowed right then and there that I would not ever do business with this bank. They are expanding in my state and good luck with that if the service is that poor going forward.
