East West Bank Value Checking Account is a pretty standard checking account. You'll need $100 to get started, and there's a $5 monthly service fee unless you qualify to waive it. East West Bank offers several other checking accounts, too. There's an option for students, one for senior citizens, and one that pays interest, to name a few.
always a huge garbage mess at the corner and reeks of piss. They use to open 7 days a week, now only 6 days a week, which made hard for my mom to come to the bank. I taught her how to use the ATM. Which sucks because it's so damn old and slow. They only dispense in $20 bill, which my mom hates. And it's risky when you want to count before you leave, because there no secure spot to preying eyes.
A letter of confirmation NOT a statement. Tellers had no idea what I was requesting and had someone at the table help us. I repeated what I was requesting and she says to give us a print out saying the account is closed will require $5.00. She then prints out a statement of transactions and on it says account is closed. I did not request a statement just a confirmation letter that says the account is closed. She then tells us it will cost $15. Wait, 1 sheet of paper that says account is closed cost $15? and the 10 page statement that says account closed cost $5? I told them that I just walked 3 stores away from Chase on the same block and requested the same. And it was FREE!!! The woman kept telling us it was their policy and that's how much it cost and that they were a different bank. Well hell, why don't I take out all my money and go to another bank that wouldn't charge me so much for printing a confirmation letter that wasn't sent or given when closing the account! What kind of service and policy is this. Are they even aware that there are plenty of other banks to choose from with better service?
