Unbelievably Bad Service

Thank you, First Horizon, for making the death of my only son an even worse experience than it should be. You are dispicable.

Savings Account

It's been 3 months since I started my Money Market savings account. 5.25 APR, great staff, FDIC insured. I was getting .025% at another bank, when I asked if they could beat First Horizon they talked a story buy all BS.

Great bank with friendly customer service

I was drawn to First Tennessee due to a limited time promotion they offered on their money market and checking accounts. I struggled to create and fund an account initially, so I spent a fair amount of time on the phone with their customer service department. Over a couple days, I talked with several different representatives - all were very kind, courteous and helpful. In the end, I did get my accounts successfully opened and everything has been running smoothly.

This Is A Terrible Bank

Run, Don't Walk away from this place. I had a mortgage there just 6 years ago and I need some info about the loan because they didn't drop the lien when I refinanced and they don't even have a record of it or of me ever having an account there. I don't know how I can ever get this resolved if they can't find it!

Worst Commercial Loan Folks Ever!

BEWARE We took out a loan for a building expansion in 2018. I'll leave out the figures, but it was substantially high for a small business to take out. Upon the insistence of our accountant, we worked with Mike Foster at First Horizon. The courting process was fine.... nice people, the rate was decent, everything seemed fine. The moment the loan closed, the entire relationship changed. We were basically threatened that we had to move all our general checking over to them or risk losing the loan. Considering that we were already set to get underway with expansion, it was too late to change track at this point. We dealt with the headaches and moved some but not all of our checking services over to them. For five years we have paid the note on time. Never late, never underpaid, never a problem. In fact, my wife hates debt so bad that she made it a rule to DOUBLE pay the note every month. It wasn't quite double, but it was a round figure that made it easy on us to keep track of. The payment was 56% what was due, and 44% overpayment towards the principal. At the end of five years, First Horizon reached out and said they need to redo some paperwork. It's time for the "five year call." (Basically I've learned that means the bank gets to refinance the loan to terms that make it more appealing to them because it sure as hell didn't help us at all). My phone calls with Glynis Coley were great. We just need you to do this, fill out that, and we'll get this sorted out and your payment will actually go down. Great! I didn't actually care that it went down, but I DID see that if the note amount went down, then the amount we're paying would to even more towards principal. Great deal, right? In January, after filling out endless paperwork again, I get an email with the new rate. I immediately looked up the phone number and called because surely I was reading this wrong.... We opened a loan at 4.6%, DOUBLE paid it for five years, and NOW after jumping through all your hoops, you're offering us a rate of 6.75%? And the interest in almost TWICE a year what the principal is? The bill jumped about $600 a month. And the new structure was 67% of the annual payments going towards interest. How is it humanly possible that we can double pay and someone still think it's ok to hit you with 2/3 of your new rate being pure interest? How it's humanly possible to pay off a loan at DOUBLE your payment for half a decade and then get a note that your bill has gone UP is beyond me! When I pushed back on it, the bank manager Mike Foster politely informed me that the rate SHOULD be 9.25%. That's their going rate right now for loans. Forget the fact that we've had an absolute perfect payment history for half a decade and that we're a known good bet. But due to our great relationship, he was going to do me the favor of lowering it to 6.75%. Actually, his quote was "The standard interest rate charge is recommended @ 9.25%. Given our relationship, we made sure we adjusted down to 6.75% to accommodate." I basically told them no way in hell. I'd pay another bank DOUBLE before I'd pay First Horizon a rate like that. At least I'd EXPECT to get screwed from a lender I had no history with. That wouldn't be half as insulting as getting turned over the coals by the bank where you've been a great customer. A few days later I get an email from Mike Foster. It was literally one line. It said "Tommy- well lower your rate to 6.50%." Well hot dang y'all! I'm only going up a full 2%! Considering my loan was only at 4.6 in the first place, it's almost a 50% jump? No thank you. When I emailed Glynis to let her know we were going to pay off the note and move the loan to another bank, I get an immediate email with a bill.... I have to pay off the appraisal they did two weeks ago that I never asked for. $3,100 for a bill for you to come look at a building and take pictures that I'd already sent you anyway? We're losing your business because we're greedy dirtbags, so here's your bill so I can stick you with as much as possible on your way out? No thanks! Be warned.

Horrible Experience

I have been with First Tennessee/First Horizon for 30 years. I moved 3 years ago and switched banks but upon discovery, I had close to $60,000 missing. After much pleading, proving, begging, they finally admitted that I had been scammed and returned 1/3 of what was missing. Everyone I spoke with had a different answer, different promise, kicking the can down the road, saying I waited to long (although they did restore some of my funds that were stolen - proving my point). Even the office of the president was without compassion, honesty, or integrity. There are other banks that will serve your banking needs - do not trust this one. This was my little nest egg that they didn't protect or restore.

NOT IMPRESSED

I was with Iberiabank for years and very satisfied. Customer service went down the drain after the merger with First Horizon. I am currently looking for a new bank.

WORSE BANK IN GEORGIA

This is the worse bank ever and they should not be in business. I had my address updated with an agent over the phone last week, but she misspelled my street name. I called on yesterday to have the typo fixed in the address and they kept telling me I had to go inside of a bank. Then they told me to call the branch manager Mrs. Gibson to fix the issue which was insane. After I literally had to argue with several agents one of the agents by the name of Mrs. Carruthers cancelled my online banking. Then she put a security block on my account for NO REASON. So I emailed Mrs. Gibson and she responded that all of my accounts are being terminated. All of this is behind one of their incompetent, ignorant customer services reps DOING THEIR JOB WRONG! I wasn't given an explanation to why my accounts was being terminated and they did this maliciously behind me complaining about their employees. Mrs. Gibson should be fired from this location and could careless about customers at this bank. The customer service rep Mrs. Carruthers need to be fired for mishandling my account and putting a block on my account for no reason. Everytime you call client services all of the reps sound like they are sleep, they microphones aren't working, they lazy, don't want to help you, are unprofessional, and you have to repeat yourself a million times since none of them CAN COMPREHEND!

Appallingly Reaction To Bullying And Discrimination

The branch in Gallatin, specifically Kenneth Curtis and his female minions lily and keegan. We had a savings account for almost 15 years at this garbage bank. I would advise anyone who values integrity where they keep their money to stay the hell away from this bank and these garbage humans.

Worst Bank Ever!!!

They acquired IberiaBank (my bank commercial loan account) and then started to charge me a monthly fee until I discovered it nearly a year later. They refused to credit back my fees. To add the insult, I paid off my loan balance and it has a small interest accrual $1.58 from the last statement but my online balance showed zero. Even I tried to make a transfer from my checking account to this commercial loan, it wouldn’t let me make any transfer since it showed zero balance. Then they charged me for $15 late fee, and I had to call them to pay it off from the phone (what a backward bank), they even asked me to come by to the bank and I said I’m not in the State! They love to charge their customers fee for any reason! Not refunding it! Just stay away!!!
